これからの不確実性時代の生き残り法
一寸先が不透明な不確実性の時代には、常に自分の足元が揺らぎます。これは企業という組織にとっても、個々のビジネスパーソンにとっても同じです。
「自分の存在価値は何か」を常に問い続ける姿勢が、持続的に良い仕事を続けられる重要なポイントになるでしょう。すなわち、重要な事は「企業や個人のあるべき姿の再定義」なのです。
「ミッション」と「ビジョン」の重要性についてはよく知られていますが、加えて最近は「パーパス」という概念が盛んに議論されるようになりました。
「ミッション」は伝道、布教、任務などの意味を含み、目指す状態に向けて何を行うべきかの方向性、言い替えれば「What」を定義することです。
「ビジョン」は未来像や構想であり、企業でも個人でも、持つべき理念や目指すべき状態、すなわち「Where」を定義することです。
加えて「パーパス」は、なぜ、企業や個人がこの世の中に存在するのかという意義を問う「Why」を結晶化したものと言えます。
言い換えれば、パーパスは「製品を作ったりサービスを提供することを超えて、わが社はまた私は、なぜここに存在する価値があるのか」「もしわが社がそして私自身が消滅したら、社会や世界はかけがえのない何を失ってしまうのか」といった我々の組織や個々人の存在意義を意味するのです。
すなわちこの3つを統合してみると、パーパス（why）に向けて、ビジョン（where）として目指す状態を定義し、その実現に向けた道筋としてミッション（what）を明確化することになります。
すなわち、パーパスは最も上位の基点になる概念といえるのです。
一つ例を挙げましょう。
この地球という惑星に77億という人間が住み、近い将来100億に膨れ上がろうとしています。この人口爆発の中で、地球をいつまでも使える惑星として維持する為には、エコシステムという概念は避けて通れません。
日本企業もそれを構成する個々人も、エコシステムとどう関与すればよいのかを考えざるを得なくなっています。
すれは、我々がエコシステムに「呑み込まれる」のではなく「自ら積極的に入っていく」姿勢が重要だと思うのです。
そして、一歩前進して、「勝ち組」のエコシステムに入ったとしましょう。
そこで満足してしまったらお終いです。何故なら、地球そのものが、いわば生きものとして変化し、人間と同じく老化しつつあるからです。
だから、常にその変化にマッチしたエコシステムの進化によって、企業も個人も存在の安定が確保されるわけです。その為には、常に現エコシステムのモニタリングが不可欠なのです。
